About the Artist

Hi, I'm Courtney!

Step into my world, where I bring nature's intricate beauty and whimsical charm to life through lampworked glass and jewelry. My art is born from a fascination with fire, the endless possibilities of color, and the rewarding challenge of shaping glass and metal. Imagine tiny trees crafted from fine wire or delicate flowers preserved forever in glass – these are the kind of delightful miniatures I love to create. It's truly a labor of love, blending design, heat, and skill into every vibrant, detailed piece.

My artistic journey began with jewelry training in 1994, learning from master jewelers and gaining hands-on experience in both intimate workshops and larger companies, mastering repairs and custom creations. Then, in 2000, a new passion ignited: glassworking. I taught myself the captivating craft, and it quickly became an integral part of my artistic expression. Since 2012, I've been seamlessly blending these two loves, crafting unique glass and jewelry designs that are truly one-of-a-kind.

The creative process is a dance between inspiration and intuition. Sometimes, a custom order or a sudden spark of an idea leads to a detailed sketch. Other times, I find myself gathering an array of components that seem to call to me, guiding my hands as they organically form a new design. Ultimately, my greatest wish is for my art to evoke a sense of delight and admiration in those who experience it.

Away from the torch and workbench, you might find me tending to my small goat farm! I'm also always eager to learn and grow, currently diving into the beautiful world of enameling.

I'm incredibly grateful for the recognition my work has received, including "Best of Show" at the 2018 French Art Colony Regional Art Show, 2nd Place at the Bob Evans Farm Festival, and Honorable Mentions at various regional art shows and festivals. These honors inspire me to continue pushing the boundaries of my craft.
